macOS Device Setup

Download the Installer

• Go to Devices in your HISN dashboard
• Download the correct version:

- Apple Silicon (M1–M4): Click "macOS (Apple Silicon)"

- Intel: Click "macOS (Intel)"

Install

• Open Terminal
• Navigate to your Downloads folder: cd ~/Downloads
• Make the file executable: chmod +x hisn-setup
• Run the installer: sudo ./hisn-setup
• Enter your Mac password when prompted
• The installer will:

- Install the HISN proxy service

- Add the root certificate to your Keychain

- Configure system proxy settings

Trust the Certificate

• Open Keychain Access (search in Spotlight)
• Find "Hisn Root CA" in the System keychain
• Double-click it → expand "Trust" → set to "Always Trust"
• Close and enter your password to confirm

Verify

• Open Safari or Chrome and visit chatgpt.com
• Try sending a message with a test credit card: 4111 1111 1111 1111
• The message should be blocked

Troubleshooting

• "Cannot be opened" error: Go to System Preferences → Privacy & Security → click "Open Anyway"
• Certificate not trusted: Make sure you set it to "Always Trust" in Keychain Access
• Proxy not active: Check System Preferences → Network → Advanced → Proxies
